About This Website
This is a story of our experience with Eye Care for Animals, a national veterinary practice specializing in ophthalmology. It is a story of love, trust, sacrifice, compassion, and commitment. It is also a story about pain, deceit, greed, betrayal, and abandonment. The main characters in our story are Peanut (our beloved first shelter dog), Jeff and Michelle Mishur (Peanut’s owners), and Drs. Steve Sisler, Annora Gaerig and Kimberly Hsu — all employees of Eye Care for Animals.
If you are a loving pet owner, you owe it to yourself and, more importantly, to your pet to read this story and learn from our experience. Our story is relevant to your relationship with any vet — not just specialists. We are sharing it with you because we want to spare pet owners and their pets the pain and suffering that Peanut and we experienced. As professional educators, we realize that by educating ourselves about our pets we become better pet owners.
